If so, I'd be eager to hear how it went and what to watch out for. I've never sold a bike on Ebay before but am about to, I think.

Did you set a reserve and how did you determine what to set it at? Does a reserve really deter potential bidders? How do you handle viewing? Does all the bidding happen at the end like usual?

And no, I won't be accepting any checks from Nigeria.

Yes, more than a couple of bikes... i've also bought 1 from there.

Viewings, stick your email addy on the advert or phone number... same as usual.

Yep, usually right at the end.

Reserve is not set usually, but if i'm honest, i have mates waiting with accounts to bid for the bike up to 1 bid below what i want for it....

I eBay'd my fireblade last year.
First attempt the bike was won didn't go as well as I'd've liked... I had trouble getting the post office to ship it to nigeria, so sadly I had to refuse the gentlemans kind offer of twice the bike's value.

Second attempt went very well. Two people came round to have a look before bidding, and I set a reserve at my absolute bottom price. Last five minutes of the bidding went mad, and I got a little more than I'd expected.

I delivered the bike the same day the auction ended and the guy paid in cash. Everyone's happy!

Ebayed my Bandit and currently ebaying my GN125 very easy loads more exposure than Autotrader and MCN but they do go for less on Ebay ie their real selling price not what people want or what parkers say. And I have found the bidding to be very progressive and not all at end.

Not sold a bike on e-bay, but, have bought 2 bikes (Ducati's) off there. Both bikes bought with a cheeky bid after the auctions had finished and the reserves had not been met.

This auction is for my Sep’ 2001 (51 Plate) Ducati 748R. The bike was purchased brand new from Shirlaws of Aberdeen. It has full Ducati Service History and is taxed until the end of February 2004. As with any loved Ducati motorcycle, this bike has been cared for meticulously since it’s delivery There are no marks except for the understandable ‘wear & tear’ nicks. The bike will be put back to standard 2001 trim prior to sale (i.e. any aftermarket items you may see in photos of the bike will be removed prior to sale).

<p>This bike is a joy to ride and will make a fine accompaniment to your garage. Equipped with a more powerful engine and based on the 748RS that competed in the 2000 World Supersport Championship, the 748R makes 106+ horsepower at 11,500 rpm. i tried a couple of times and found that there are loads of idiots out there who bid but dont complete the deal, with excuses like i didnt mean to bid that much,

you can report them to ebay but in the end after it happening a couple of times you still have to pay fees to ebay, even though there was no sale.

i have bough form ebay but short circuted the bidding and just gone and viewed and secured a deal.
