Helmet painting

I have a good friend who is a very talented air brush artist. After a conversation with him, I asked if he could paint my bash hat.
He said he had never done one before but doesn't think it would present him any trouble, other than the fact of which type of paint and laquer to use.
Is there a special paint that is used, also who in the SE+Kent area that can strip/refit my Arai after the paint work is done and supply the relevant gold saftey stickers?
