Aftermarket shock for 748 - any advice?

Hi peeps...
Have got no damping in rear shock on my Y2000 748E (due to leak). Does anyone have a new or serviceable unit that I could buy? Failing that, any info/experience on replacements (eg Hagon) gratefully received. Thanks in anticipation, Ian.

Ohlins is the most common upgrade.

Hello clarkmeister

you can get it serviced, but as said Ohlins is the upgrade.

Hi,

i also have a 748E 2000 frame, but i really cannot tell what shock do i have at the back. ( i think it's not SHOWA)

What's the standard fitment?

I think the 748E may run a sachs shock.

Has anybody tried a 749 or 999 shock on the earlier models as these would only be a few years old at most and generally be in better condition than a used 748/916 shock

Mood: whatever!
I asked at my local dealer about a 749/99 shock for my 748 and was told they are different and do not fit, so ended up going with an Ohlins instead!
