Back wheel knock

Gang.
Sometimes when I pull away or change into second I get a bit of a knock/clunk from the back end, can feel it too. Pretty certain its in the back wheel.

Tonight laying under the bike in case anything obvious was dropping off I put the back brake on and tried moving the wheel. Seems to be some movement in the caliper carrier and I can make it clunk/knock by rocking the wheel.

Any ideas? Should it do that? (All nuts and bolts nipped up nicely)

If you're in Nottingham a quick trip to Cornerspeed in would tell you what was what.

the carrier movement is normal - they all do that BUT the fact that you can hear it above all the din the bike makes is not normal.

I would say that you have rear caliper problems - its sticking - once "unstuck" there should be no noise - if you can - try removing the rear brake COMPLETELY FROM THE BIKE and see if the noise is still there.

Caliper needs cleaning/servicing/binning etc

Have had the caliper off and cleaned and re greased it (in the right places) working fine but the noise is still there.
