Unhappy Fatality at Bury Hill

I am not sure if anybody is aware but last Saturday 2.30pm a guy was involved in an accident up at Bury Hill; - he subsequently died in St Richards hospital. GSX-R rider, - husband and father of 3 young girls.

He was a friend of friends, - his wife works at my kids school, - and as I am known in my local community as having a motorcycle interest two people have e-mailed me asking if I have heard anything or know anything of what happened. Apparently it is a mystery to the Police. I imagine that anybody who does know anything has already gone to the police but on the off chance that anybody knows anything or has heard anything and can offer help to Police and family could you please send me an e-mail?? ian.allgar@ducatisportingclub.com I would then pass the information onto the wife’s cousin who knowing that the biking community is close has just asked me the favor.

I live near there, and my wife rides past Bury Hill every day to work. She mentioned that there were Police witness boards up.

I'll confirm the location and see if she's heard anything.

Hmm - she hasn't head anything from anyone in the area, the witness boards are either side of the 2nd corner from the top of the hill so we're not sure what could have happened.

We live nearby and have made discreet enquiries - the neighbour of a friend who lives in bury village found the rider lying in the middle of the road, no other vehicles in sight, and they think he was going up the hill.
Not a lot of sympathy tho' as the bury locals are sick of bikers showing off to each other.
(There was only the one accident Melnie.)

Thanks Phil, - also got your e-mail. - And just had an e-mail from a fellow rider who was first on the scene.

Thanks again Nigel for putting this out further a field.

Not going to be an easy father’s day tomorrow in their house. I guess we should all try and make the most of our time?
