748 exhaust suggestions

Im looking to replace my stock 45mm system and termi cans for a complete system(preferably Ti) . Any suggestions as to what size would suit? 50mm or 54mm? the bike was recently set up with a pc3 and the dyno operator suggested bigger pipes, so any thoughts/experience of putting a similar system on a 748 would be welcomed....cheers

Assuming we are talking about a standard 748 I think 50mm is as big as you can reasonably go - and even then seem to recall being told that depending on the individual bike some respond better than others to this and some bikes are best left at 45mm. Bigger systems will need a new EPROM and the fuelling set up to suit and again this introduces a new set of variables and not everyone has reported positive experiences on this. When I fitted 50mm Ti end cans it took three chips to find one that suited - in fact the first one I had made the bike appreciably worse. Also seem to recall previous threads cautioning about suitability of 50mm - and especially larger than 50mm - systems on standard 748. Having said that if yours has been dyno'd you may be in a better position to judge.

Talking

45mm on 748

50mm on 748R

Both sound good, 50mm just a bit louder.

748R - Less is more !
