Mex 3s and Pirelli Dragons - are they the same?

My new bike (748) has a Pirelli Dragon on the front and a Metzeler Mez3 on the rear. The Metzeler looks just like the Pirelli Dragon rear in their catalogue, and | seem to remember that their is a tie up between the two brands. Are they the same?

Obviously I dont like the idea of mixed tyre types on the bike, but having just laid out on the bike, dont want to buy new tyres just yet! I plan to fit Pirelli Diablos in due course
