My bike has had a slight mishap involving a certain moving car's bumper, and all the panels and tank needs a lick of paint.

The choice is, im stuck between having it painted the standard red colour, (but liking to be different) going for a non standard colour.

I know i like the standard red, but getting bored of it, but if i have it all painted the non-standard colour, what if i don't like it??

AAaarrgghh!!! What to do??? HELP

Not the perfect solution, but get a few good photos and "apply" the different colours using Photoshop or similar. It'll give you an idea what will and won't work.

Im going for a dark(ish) metallic blue wiff gold lettering and gold weeeeels
and lid to match so I can pose.........
and it'll be at the first tracky day I can go to next season...
lifes too short to worry, and anyway 'er indoors think its a hundred quid or so...so anyone at dream machine, pse dont tell er the real costs, I dont fancy divorce after 33 years,

Mind you they got some real fancy pearlescent paints, only drawback is its 400 notes a litre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but howsa bout a deep metallic green wiff white and red lettering (Italian flag colours) your choice, you gets what u pays for

decided to go for it like ya say, its only money, and you cant take it with you.

Already started to strip her down, gives me a good chance to clean her properly. By the way defo not yellow,

@ nelly, tried the photoshop thing you suggested, but am only an amateur, so sort of look alright but wasnt the best.

Decided i'm gonna go for it, I've had loads a people saying "Its a Ducati... Its supposed to be red....." but may as well go for it, if i dont like it........?????

You can't see from the pictures but it's all been done a bit sloppily. eg the whole seat unit needs to be removed before the tank can come up.

I got the bike a couple of months ago as it is so none of the work was done by me, but I can tell you what were the tricky parts.

The seat unit is off a 748/9xx monoposto and the subframe needed to be cut down for it to fit. My one is the version that has the rear vents which house the indicators and cleans up the back. I have been told that it is relatively easy to put in the standard 748 seat hinge for some storage (for the sandwiches). There are plenty of them around from breakers, and even a new one shouldn't break the bank. Should be an easy job if you have a hacksaw.

The cans are standard Silmotor jobs but I was told the pipes were one off's and I don't know who made them. Happy to take some more detailed pictures or have you round if you want to see how they route (a real spaghetti junction). Not a diy job unless you have a pipe-bending machine handy.

The bike itself is a 96 750ss with a tinkered 900ss engine dropped in. There's a lot of work needed to tidy it up, which is my plan for the next year.
