Questions, questions

Thanks for the info so far!

I'll be picking up the bike (900ssie) in a couple of weeks, so:

What's the service interval on the valvegear reshim?
Is the s/arm drilled for paddock stand bobbins, & if so, what's the thread?

Thanks again

Mood: Bloo and Yellow.. and Red now ;)
Service intervals are annually or 6000 miles "whichever comes first".
The valve clearances should be checked but in reality, you may not them need doing until 12k, say.
It's not a massive job to check them so better safe than sorry.........
The arm on the 900SSie I have in at the moment isn't drilled for bobbins. I don't think any of them are?????

Thanks for the info...

...and for being patient with me!

Now, where can I find a step-by-step procedure for checking/adjusting desmo valvegear? Don't worry, I'm an aircraft engineer so I'm confident I can do it.

Btw, when I had a 750ss years ago, the valves were done by Paul Klatkievicz of Ducati Technical Services. Is he still around? Nice bloke...

cfn

PS less than two weeks till I get the bike!

Try here, although it's an ST2 site there's loads of info for the SS types too.

Less than a week now till I get the bike!

Yes, Paul is still around. Somewhere near Leeds, I think. It's been a while since I spoke to him. Mixed reviews, though.

Great stuff...

I wish there was as much info available for Moto Morinis.

Four days till I get the bike!

I'm going to stay up every night till then- mainly 'cos I work nights at E. Mids airport.
