One 2004 ST4s ABS in Rosso Red. This bike is a complete time warp find for anyone wishing to buy a single owner Ducati ST4s abs, with very little mileage which has been completely pampered and lived in a garaged under a quality cover. I am after £4200 or very near offer. The bikes based in Chepstow South Wales..
I am the owner and purchased it back in 2004. I have the V5 in my name and every piece of documentation which originally came with the bike, including the original sale receipt in my name, two black keys, one red one, the key code card and three small security little fobs (can’t remember their purpose). It comes with genuine Ducati race slip on pipes and K&N air filter bought brand new from Ducati (still have receipt). The original pipes are also included. I have also included an Optimate charger, Abus security Chain and Disk lock as I will never need these again. The bike even has its original tool kit.
Sadly bad health dictates my reason to sell. I will happily discuss this with the potential owner.
The bike has only been used in dry weather and has never been dropped neither has it ever been in an accident. Its only done approx. 4270 miles as per its last MOT. Yes you did read this correctly, 4270 miles. It’s about as near pristine as I can keep it. It comes with a full MOT as per last Oct and I see no reason to put another on because it’s done no mileage since and will sail through another. The only advisory is the front tyre which will require changing. The new owner will need to do this for themselves.
I purchased the bike back in 2004 and rode it initially and do love it. But over the years I rode it less and then purchased a convertible which I don’t have any more and ended up using that with my wife instead of the bike, which accounts for the low mileage. It was serviced at the dealer in Bristol (service book shows stamps) whilst the bike was being used and then at a local specialist. Firstly, the bike has ALWAYS been started every few weeks to ensure the oil is distributed and the belts don’t develop memory. I did the servicing myself due to the lack of use over the latter years and to be honest I have spent more time servicing it than riding. I have done regular oil/filter, belts, coolant and brake/clutch fluid changes. The oil strainer has been routinely checked at the same time for any debris which I have never found. I only use genuine Ducati parts supplied by Ducati Winchester (receipts available) and Shell Helix fully synthetic oil. I have the genuine Ducati ST4s abs workshop manual which comes with the bike and even went to the expense of having it scanned and will supply the new owner with a copy on a mem stick. It’s probably averaged an oil and filter change less than every 1000 miles.
Everything I have done to the bike has been carried out to the exact spec of the workshop manual. I changed the battery, fluids, filter, belts and belt tension nuts again back in Oct 2018 just before the MOT. Once again all the work was carried out as per the Ducati workshop manual, including the torqueing and tension of the belts using the sonic method to ensure accuracy. I have every MOT since owning it and have left images of the bike showing the reg. plate so you can check the MOT system yourselves. I have receipts for the servicing and a lot of other various ones for oil and other sundries.
Back in 2015 I spent a considerable amount of time and money “Brightening” the bike up and making a number of aesthetic and functional enhancements’. I stripped the rear suspension and replaced some of the associated bearings’ and re-greased everything using the exact Ducati spec greases (which there were a lot) and again everything was torqued and done as per the Ducati workshop manual. The bikes never been ridden in the rain as it was purchased to be used in fair weather only. The front (Renthal), rear sprocket’s (Renthal supersprox) and chain (Renthal) were replaced to make it better to ride. I can’t remember the ratios, but I have the receipt to hand for you to look up if interested. I bought a kit of stainless steel nuts and bolts to replace the original tired looking ones. These comprised of all the necessary replacements for the fairings, engine casings, brake/clutch reservoirs, steering etc. ……... I also acquired specialist Titanium parts from a place in the US and replaced both back and front wheel spindle nuts including other misc. titanium parts. I can send images of the parts in question or show you if you view it. In addition I also replaced all the disk bolts and associated calliper bolts with either titanium/stainless steel depending on their use. I even had titanium slider bolts made by a Racebolt to the exact same spec as the originals in my quest to make this bike look something special. Both brake and clutch fluid reservoir covers were changed for black billet aluminium as these were corroded and looked tired. You will never see another bike of this quality on the road. It attracts attention everywhere I take it when ridden. The bike is that good and rides exactly as it should. I can’t stress this enough and you will see this for your own eyes if you come to view it.
If you require more pics or information, please don’t hesitate to PM me.
If you know anything about these models, they are the proverbial sheep’s in wolves clothing and there are not many available for sale. The ones I have seen are either very high mileage being offered for around £3500 or lower mileage circa 20k or more being offered at dealers for well over £5k. I am after a modest £4200, or very near offer for the bike due its mileage and quality. I can guarantee you will not find another bike of this condition or lack of mileage anywhere.
You are most welcome to view the bike almost anytime as I am retired and am available nearly every day and night. You are also very welcome to spend as much time viewing as you like and playing with the thing. Do not ask to ride it, not unless you leave me a £5000 cash deposit and can show proof of insurance..
