Im going to buy one of these, but wanted to get peoples feeling on the quality of them. Im assuming the DP are the best, but ive seen so many that have faded badly and look really tatty (especially whe used with a heavily vented clutch cover as they usually are)..is the DP much better...??
Not a lot in it really regarding quality as most of them come from a handful of machine shops and then get "branded". One thing to watch for is an integral collar around the spring. Where this is present, when the caps are fitted and done up, you'll be able to see little of the spring itself. What this does is protect the spring pillars if the bike goes over. You will scratch the cover up, but you stand far less chance of breaking the drum.
I second Nelly's comments with regard to protecting the spring. In fact, Cyclecat make a pressure plate specifically with this feature. Probably near the top of the tree.
See my post for your clutch cover thread. The JHP pressure plate is very similar to the standard one - the springs are exposed; hence need for stainless springs, if you do not like to see rusty bits.
Mood: My Jota goes rumpety rump! & I have my wife exactly where she wants me!
see my post regarding the billet clutch cover, my preasure plate is a DP item but i think most of the better brand name ones are all ok. Pays yer money eetc etc etc
