I know this is an old topic but I've not been...

I know this is an old topic but I've not been able to log in for ages......

The source of the knocking noise was traced to the front cylinder where the piston skirt was picking up on the cylinder...

The dealer has offered to put a new barrel and piston in under warranty. However, I feel that I would be left with a comprimised engine. Without looking at the critical components it is difficult...

Rear hugger

I love the look of the SS (don't we all?) however, I think that a nice carbon rear hugger would finish the bike off nicely.

Are they any alternatives to the Ducati item that are cheaper?

1000DS vs 900

I've got a 2002 900SS - so it has the wheels, swing arm, ohlins etc. but the old clocks, engine, etc.

Has anyone ridden both bikes? Is the new engine significantly better than the old 900...

Finally took the bike back to the dealer after much deliberation and they have confirmed that the valve adjustment is out. It is booked back in to have the work done. I'll let you know what...
