mine did that,turned out to one of the bolts...

mine did that,turned out to one of the bolts holding it on had snapped,couple of quid to fix.

mine did the same last sat,turned out to be a couple of wires from the rr to alternator became exposed and earthed touching the engine,may be worth checking before you fork out.

theres a lot more experienced riders answering you now mate,like they've said its just what works for you,it definately responds better to a more manly/forcefull/you take charge of it kind of riding...
