Front cylinder plug cap/coil is the usual culprit.Whip it out and clean it up,inside and out.(I think its a 10mm nut,..if not,the reverse end of the tool kit plug spanner fits.)

Clarkmeister had the same prob on his 748.The nut had to be destroyed to get it off.
Have you tried loosening the wheel side first?Sometimes it can tension the sprocket side,....not sure how...

I'm thinking of fitting one on my 999.

Hi Ruth,dont forget you need to check the oil level while the bike is upright,NOT on the sidestand.Add the oil a little at a time,then stand the bike up and check the level through the little window...
