Well I did the same conversion on my 2002 748R and took pillions with no trouble and I'm not as light as I'd like to be :lol:
Something you do need to consider though is telling you insurance...

I did try a Aprilia Tuono but found the seat height of the S4R more comfortable and the Tuono felt a little more top heavy to me. Both are good bikes...
