I think most of the problems are just due to age as the bike has an excellent service history but things like disc carriers etc dont get taken off very often...

Recently taken mine off with air gun air pressure at max and then the initial torque will spin the nut off.
ok with mine make sure you have a proper 6 sided impact socket not a cheapy.

youve put my mind at rest,I was concerned as my Guzzi runs a lot cooler although both heads are in the airstream. suppose a bigger oil cooler wouldnt do any harm.
