Race pattern Gears change advice please

I need to change my Bostrom 998s to a race pattern gear change as I get confused whilst riding and racing.
Last night I changed the thing that connects to the gearbox to the gear lever so it is now...

My 998 runs at this temp in traffic but no loss...

My 998 runs at this temp in traffic but no loss of power just a hot bum! is this a problem ? should I be looking to correct it?
