thanks for all of your help and advice on this. Took it to get looked at and had a split pipe, also had a split coolent pipe so thats where the residue came from on the V Peice, so...

Nope checked all of that aswell mate, there is no oil running anywhere as far as i can see, got all the panels off had a good look round and can see nothing wrong anywhere, just oil on the v peice...

Just had a look at my 748 after a ride out and have oil on the V Peice , and on the lower right hand fairing lower, only a small amount but not thinking it is a good sign any ideas what could be...

If the paint starts "snaking" badly then get them re-painted ASAP, i found that out when a big corrosion spot appeared on mine, got them re-painted by a bloke in Melton who knows what he is on about...

You can try Belmont Metal finishing, they were on about it when i picked up my wheel, really nice blokes. They painted my Mag and they charge £35 per wheel, did a really good job on it...

I am thinking of moving on from the standard rear sprocket and onto a quick release option.
