Tank protector

The foam tank protector on my SL is getting tatty, My local dealer says they are no longer available!

Wink Been out for a ride tonight, Rpm is 5500 at 100...

Been out for a ride tonight, Rpm is 5500 at 100 mph with a 37 rear sprocket, Looks like i should go with the 39t rear.


opps forgot to mention, test was done on a private road

Im just about to order a new chain which has done over 6000 miles and is worn out, the sprockets have done the same mileage but look ok, would it be advisable to renew the sprockets aswell?? if so...

I would assume that if the handle is at right...

I would assume that if the handle is at right angles to the tap it would be shut and inline for open, that is the way the plumbing valves work

What should the tickover be when the engine is warm on a ss/sl. Mine seems to be about 1200 when warm but the other day it got very hot and would only tickover at 1600, is this normal??

How long for cambelt change?

I was under the impression that the cambelts should be changed every 2 years or 6000 miles!

Just been through the haynes manual which states for a 95/96 ss cambelts should be changed at 18500...

the standard plug is DPR8EA-9 converted to DPR8EIX-9

but the standard plug in the haynes book is Champion RH6HC...

Oil filter gauze removal

I have just had a look at removing this and wondered what the slotted screw was thats under the bolt, Is it a lock nut and needs removing before you take out the gauze filter?
