I found these were the best, and by far, the less restrictive.

You have the "old" type of filter, these have been superceded by the twin K&N type,

I think there were problems of these foam filter burning if there was a back fire in the air...

Just get the correct bearing details and order them from a reputable supplier.

I`ve done this many times and had no problems, I even used to have to order oil seals regularly for my 750 sport rev...

They do fit as all the centres are the same except that the stearing damper will not fit as the 998 one is low at the rear for the damper to mount on.

The 999 damper also has an offset spherical...
