The ride height is the easiest thing to adjust and then change back if you dont like it.
I'd have a go at that first as at least you can change it easily and little by little.

It should be OK.....

....seems like a tolerance issue. Try adjusting the fairings where they fit together to gain enough clearance to make them fit.

Other than that a size 4 hammer will sort it nicely!!!

Are you sure its not the battery??

You can get the noises that you describe with a flat battery too. The starter motor is a bugger to swap, so I'd check the battery first.

Maybe its fully charged to start with, but isn't...

You can find R6 track/race bikes for £2500 to £5000 or so. These have lots of spares, bodywork, WOW etc....

I'm probably only looking to pay at the top end of that range for a track...

Ditch the hugger......

......fit the full swing arm cover and get a shock guard.

It'll look a lot better that way too, it really cleans up the back end.
