I've had a look at the Tecmoto ones and am impressed, but I am worried that the wide open gaping holes let in loads of dirt and other cr@p off...

Doesn't hit mine.....Are you sure you have the correct screen on? Is it an aftermarket jobbie? I have an aftermarket Fabbri screen (as in my avatar) and it misses just fine.
