Donnington noise limits-Help!

I'm at Donny this month, which is a "quiet" day. So,how quiet is 98 dB?'cos my Termis on the SP5 make the ground shake, but that doesn't mean they in excess of the noise limit.Anybody any ideas?

If its carbon termis on the SP5...then I think no way...I think people have mentioned standard cans even failing at Donny on Dukes. Standard cans are rated at 98dB I think...so even they are iffy.

I personally wouldn't take the risk at donny on quiet days anymore, I don't fancy being thrown off halveway through the day or not even making it out on the track...they do enough noisey days now anyhow.

There is a marshal that walks up and down the entry slip looking/listening at your exhausts. If it aint std, he pulls you out!

Even if you manage to get out on track there is a noise meter situated on the gantry on the start finish straight so beware.

I really have heard it all now, the place is a chuffin race track AND there is a chuffin great airport right next door. Are the putting noise meters on Mr Popodopolis's, or whatever he's called, bright orange hairyplanes? I'm sick of this nanny state, what happened to having fun?

I couldnt agree more - well said!
I must admit Ive often wondered why they have noise limits at donny when you've got jets screaming overhead every few minutes. I went there earlier this year for Download and at times the bands were almost drowned out! Then at 5am gpt woken by the first one on the day taking off. Doesnt make any sense to me but why should that surprise me unless someone knows why this rule is in place?

There is a guy that does tyres at donny, he also got slip on baffles.
£35.00 I think they are.
