Paul, I can see the need for good rearsets to try to protect the silencers, but a bung in the front won't help that, I don't think. Can't you put a bung on the silencer hanger mounting point? That could save it and probably ease the load on the rearsets as well, which tend to snap off when the bike hits a curb during a lowside.

Snapping off the rearsets? Now there's a challenge!

I have some Hornet crash bungs lying around - maybe they would bolt onto the rear subframe exhaust hangers..............

The fixed pegs snap off quite easily.

Not sure if would put bungs on the subframe. I don't think it's designed to take a large side load as it would see in a crash.

Check out the bungs on the racing 888 mentioned in another thread.
They are on the top engine mounts but don't go though the fairing sides - so no holes close to the fairing brackets.

I'm not too sure how much damage they would save?
I suppose that the water pump cover and the battery and clutch would benefit from any degree of protection.

I think that I might go back to R&G shortly.............

I had a bung fitted to the exhaust hanger mount on my Yam*** racebike, and it actually worked well. Saved my Akropovic a few times. Sometimes the hanger bent in a bit...just grab firmly and bend back!
