| My 'simple' accident took 18 months to settle. I have a lever arch file full of paper and an in box full of emails. There is no substitute for getting on the phone and making a pest of yourself. You're unlikely to be dealing with a solicitor, but an overworked, underpaid clerk who has a stack of files on their desk and a system that means that they look at yours every so often and make a call to the opposition. Things take time, get used to it.
