I don't believe that alcohol was the issue with Charles Kennedy, he lost the trust of his management team and they forced him out because they feared what the membership would do if they didn't. When confidence in the man vanishes then the best thing to do is resign, which he did.

I think the drink thing was a little old reason theyve had sitting on the side for a while..........

Theyve seen the tories gain in the popularity stakes by having a shake up ........so want the same. Roll out the old reason and away ya go!
