After years of teasing and snide jokes and comments to my dad after helping him pull what can only be described as a rusted piece of scrap iron thing out the back of his MPV 4 years ago i have had to eat humble pie after seeing the said item fully finished and restored.
The above item was a mid late 60's 350 Mark3 with a half red / chrome tank and wrong way round gear change setup.
I am truly stunned at this latest restoration he has completed and spent an age just looking at its detail and 100% originality (down to battery, tyre pump and tyres). This thing looks brand new and never left a crate / showroom. I am quite proud of his latest project which is truly stunning to look at and would fit in well with my current collection of house ornaments like the YSR80 and NC30 yap stuff.
He finished his 250 last year (no idea which one, looks similar but is later, same dodgy gear setup and is in blue. same skinny looking tyres and general layout but has slightly lower clipons and again is 100% original) and again that looks stunning but there is something about his 350 which draws me to it.
I wish i had some pictures, i would know them if i saw some
**** stops to get ducati history book ****
It looks like the 350 is a 1968 Mk3 in red with the chrome tank and odd looking tacho mount
The 250 looks like a 1973 non desmo in blue again both with twin seats
Cant wait to see what he does with his pair of 200 1959 elites (in the dodgy pink / red colour with semi chrome tanks)
The RC30 looked a bit out of place in the middle of all his classic ducati bikes, the RC was spoling for a fight and showing them who was boss though, so thought it best to bring the RC30 back home and leave one of the NC30's in it's place to fight the jap corner
