Squires for sale!

Squires for sale

I'll be sad to see Harry go. I hope it doesn't go down hill although it has to be said that of late the food at the cafe has been pretty poor.

lets hope the new owners put some decent toilets in and some heating, and some visor washing faciltys for bikers !,as harry seems to have forgotten who got him his bentley helicopter ferrari, house on the mont in york, gold rolex etc, etc, etc !!

Could be made into a real, hot spot,i know it attracts lots of people, but it needs a refresh, bigtime, and a theme of some description like the ace in london !

I wish I had £2.1m but looking in my pockets at the moment I have barely enough for KitKat.

Lets just say there is a bit of a difference in the purchase price four years ago and the current asking price that is more than enough to keep anyone in toys. I heard it has been for sale for a while on the quiet.

The selling off of the old squires site would have made a few £££ as well.

Never mind the takings from what must be one of the biggest if not the biggest regular bike haunt in the UK.

Can't say it was easy money though??

In some respects Squires is an institution, heritage, nostalgia call it what you will is big business these days.

There is still some development potential in the business side for someone.

Come on OY your just the man to be the next mein host! get down the back of sofa and get yer cash out!!

Ray.

Ray,you're right,it's just you go to smaller places, and they do cater for the biker !,imoa, harry dosn't,he sees it as a money making machine, and dosn't seem to put that much back into it, to help the customer, the place is a sh*t hole !,our bathroom is bigger than the toilets there !,there should be an in,and an out door, and a 20 urinal toilet block minimum !,to cater for the numbers it services, the place has massive potential, lets hope the next owner is a biker at heart, and realises that,as it would be a shame if it turns int o a mcdonalds or similar !

I agree that place has been resting on its laurels for far too long. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a shithole, but the facilities are pretty poor. Can't say I am a regular anymore. It's long way from the haydays of the 'milk bar'.

With the strong brand it still has, it would seem to make solid potential business investment. Don't know if 2 mil works for a business plan, though.
