go on ......just DO IT! lifes too short to muckabout - if it is too expensive/uncompromising then get an SV afterwards - at least you can say you tried it. and when you do get one you will WANT to cherish it with the best service/best oil/and little trinkets to show your affection( Qzz.....a 748 is like a woman....) and it will reward you with some good riding memories and look stunning just siiting there shining all nice and yellow (of course)!

The 1 year service is no more than an oil & filters change and a good going over to check that nothing has fallen off. You'd be better off taking it to a local (recommended) independant who would probably charge half the official dealer prices. You may even be able to do this yourself depending on how confident you are with a spanner.

The 2 year service is the biggie that replaces all the fluids and the service items, including the belts. This is the one that you don't want to miss out on, so it's worth paying to have it done. Again, an independant will be a lot less than an official dealer, so you'll save a lot of money.

OK OK I will be getting one.

Not yellow though as the wife reckons - and sorry to anyone who has one - they are for homos..... I like them, the yellow bikes that is. If anyone wants the wifes number to shout at her u2u me.
