I had the same thing before... got a producer on a Friday Night...
Phoned the broker on the monday... requested a certifcate (as I had paid in full for the years insurance)..
was told 7-10days!.. no good for a producer!..
So they issued a covernote....
2 days later it turned up...
They didn't back date it... so it was no good for the producer... !
Went to the Nick... showed my initial covernote with the Switch Recipt stapled to it, paying in full for the entire years premium...
...showed PC No Brains this and the cover note issued, with the same policy number and information on it.. so clearly I was insured... But PC No Brains couldn't engage his thought processes to acknowledge or accept this FACT...
No extention to resolve the situation...
Court summons...
Court Hearing....
dismissed....
all a complete farce... but still bugs you whilst it's going on....
