SOUTHEND SHAKEDOWN
Date: Monday 13th April (Easter Bank Holiday)
Depart Cafe: 10.30am
Route: A406 - A12 - A127 to Southend

Dust off those winter blues and join us for the first major Ride-Out of the year. This traditional Easter Monday run to Southend is always popular with motorcyclists and scooterists alike, keen to get out on the road after the winter hibernation. This year Southend Council have granted a road closure on Marine Parade, making the event far more cohesive and focused for both visitors and exhibitors.

Being Easter, The Shakedown has always had a charity aspect focusing on children and this year we are supporting the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), which also fits in well with their 'Big Bike Ride' initiative. There will be opportunity to meet and be photographed with characters who are "Out of this world" with volunteer Star Wars enthusiasts.

MARGATE MELTDOWN
Date: Monday 25th May (Whitsun Bank Holiday)
Depart Cafe: 10.30am
Route: A406 - A13 - M25 - A2 - M2 - A299 to Margate

Brand new for 2008, and despite the appalling weather conditions, the Margate Meltdown went ahead as planned, unlike so many other events that were scheduled for that weekend, but those who braved the conditions received a warm, if somewhat damp welcome. This year's Meltdown features stands, displays, live music and DJs.
With excellent resources as well as a superb beach, Margate has everything a great ride-out requires.
