noisy motor - problem????

got a 750ss 1999 .. injected .. and the motor sounds like a bag of spanners till it warms up

sounds like the pistons are slapping all over the shop

took it to get checked out and was told it's pretty normal for the 750. because of the piston expanding at a different rate to the barrels.

my 800 and 620 don't do the same

is it normal?????

is it something specific to the 750????

'they all do that sir' ask Matty; his sounded like an old box of spanners even after his spent loads replacing pistons

real answer dunno....some do (like Phil's) some don't (like mine )

Does sound like a piston clearance problem, I know on the 600s they could come with either cast or forged pistons, which did make a difference to the Cold Clatter that went on.
Also as we know with Ducati parts supply on the production line can be an issue so although barrells and Pistons usually have there markings Matched A to A or B to B there may be some that aren't

Howdo!

Does the bike smoke at all??? The barrels used to expand quicker than the engine studs, causing them to snap (Most bikes have been upgraded).

Pablo

I don't think it was an issue on the later injected bikes
