Im planning to race in the Class B DD series next year as a rookie.
I bought this bike a few months ago for £600 with MOT and tax but then found this site and information on the DD series which along with an article in 'Practicle Sportsbike' about one of the guys that races in the series sold me on racing the bike.
I have included some pics below of the transformation from stock to race bike, Im nearly there, just some wireing and a couple of other bits to finish and she should be ready.
should send the HQ Photos and some written text in to Pronto about the conversion from road bike to race bike, should make a good article Looks very tidy, do you have a race can for it yet
Im bidding on an end can at the moment, so fingers crossed, if that goes well I should have bought one by the weekend.
I do have a scorpian end can that came with the bike but Im just not that keen on it.
I may just do that report for Pronto, this isnt the first bike I have rebuilt but to be honest I would say that anyone with a Haynes manual, a little knowledge (Not electrics though, thanks for the loom work) and some tools should be okay to do the same, I love painting as well so it was all just a joy really and I can wait to be on that starting grid with you next year.
Unless your tripping over pots of dosh to get out the front door don't pay out for ultra lightweight race battery, something that will spin up a scooter will do.
Thanks for the comments Dunlop, I know alot of you guys are running the race batterys, Im just waiting to get the bike weighed in to find out how much she is at now and then decide where I can shed any more if needed.
As a guestamate what would you say she is weighing in at with the fairing changes, standard front stay removal with an ally replacment, rear under tray removed etc.... ??
