Exhaust mid section connection

Hi guys, I'm trying to fit a 45-50mm mid section from a 916/996 on to my 748s. Seems the bottom connection has changed on later models or maybe 748's as the 2 are the same size so one ain't gonna go over the other!!

Normally the 45mm standard mid section goes over the down pipes, seen some pics of a 996 and it looks like its reversed the downpipes go over the mid section, Anyone know what i mean?

Heres a pic of the 2 u can see the lips on the older dirtier 45mm one, these go over the down pipes the shiny has no lips.

Mines a 2002 748s btw.

Hi Lee

This happened to me, I have a 2002 748S which I bought new.

Only this year did I discover that two years earlier when I had bought and paid for 50mm termis the dealer fitted 45mm's because " some 748S models came from the factory with 748E headers".

It sounds like you have the 748E headers on your 748S model.

If you have had the bike from new contact the dealer and ask him to contact Ducati as you do not have the right parts, download the parts list from Ducati.com and check the part numbers you have.

If not write to Ducati and explain. Hope this helps

Mike

If your header is one part down to the link pipe you have the 748E part as I did.
