Frame fabricators?

Looking for someone who can bend tubes and weld for the purpose of frame fabrication. Anyone know of any out there? Tubing will most likely be ali or chrome-moly.

Why? Now bike-less at the moment, I fancy starting a winter prject early. Not saying much more at the moment, but it could well turn into my next year's race bike, but only I can get to the magic 1 HP/kg mark. Oh, and yes, it will have a Ducati "flavour".

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Might be worth tapping up Hejira Racing. They were slotting a 'prilla rsv engine into an all-carbon frame last time we were there. Had carbon wheels too.

What figures are you aiming for? 130bhp/130kg? Personally I'd like a 100/100, but just as a track bike. Don't think it'd be particularly suitable for any series.

Cheers,

Ali

You could do worse than try Spondon Engineering, Felix. they've been at it for years, know bike frames and geometry etc. Probably have some Ducati "patterns" already to...............

As Nelly says Spondon (Previously done Ducati specials) are well respected in this area as are Harris Performance, when I was talking to Steve Harris at the BMF he told me he was still doing the TTF2 frames.
There is also Nigle Hill of Saxon Racing. (previously did Ducati frames for the TT with aid of Brancatto Engineering)
One of the best places to look may be the Supermono series where the likes of Tigcraft and MHD (scooter916 had one with a DR800 engine in) built some nice frames alongside those of Harris and Spondon.
there are also other smaller setups. Not sure what Roger Almond is doing these days but the Ex Uncle Bunt apprentice could certainly put together a decent tunbed frame around modern sports engines.
also Larry Webb at PDQ knows a few people that can put a good tubed frame together.

Ta for all the response. Now that Skidlids has replied there probably is not much more to say!

No, it's not a Ducati nor a Ducati engine. Purpose built race engine, still a twin, though, only weighs 32 kg.

Will contact the above mentioned peeps. Do Spondon do fabrication even if it's not their own design?

Spondon is a engineering company and should be able to make anything you ask them to, what you do get is a lot of experience thrown in on how to build bikes, same applies to Harris and most of the other frame builders.
