Few pics from Scarlet duke`s Mazda Track day

Had a great day, 5 activities.

First up was a getting to know the Oulton park and where it goes, in a standard Mazda 6.

Second was Race spec Mazda RX8`s around Oulton Park, then a flying lap with an Instructor.

Third was the Auto Finesse, where using the MX5 against the clock you had to get around a slalom course, with a tennis ball on the bonnet in a fibre glass bowl contraption, Idea was not to let the ball roll out of the bowl, few tries and I got a good time.

Forth was the MX5 Auto test, Fast as you can around a coned slalom course, Rag the tits of a little MX5, wheels spinning, tyre smoke everywhere and a bloody big grin on my face... Mad fun, my score was`nt so good on that, as I was just out too Drive it like I stole it.

Then 5th was taking an RX8 out on the Road, see what its like ect, I liked it, but It had been designed for me to like it (if you know what I mean) Lots of flashy bits and cool design touches, nice car, but not for me.

Then back to the track in the Rx8 to do some speed runs and test the ABS, so it was as fast as you can in a straight line and just like in your driving test, the guy shouts "Brake" Stand on the Brake , hard as you can and let the ABS do its thing.

All in all, had a great day, came home knackered with a story to tell, and all for nothing...and thats rare in its self.

So big up Mazda, shame some of you guys didnt go for it when Scarlet Duke put up the thread, you would of loved it.
I did.

Weather looks typically Oulton, but only got a few drops, it stayed dry for pretty much the whole day.

Neigbour has just bought an RX8, only the basic version, quite a good car, apart from the every 19K mile engine re-build :O

Looks like a crackin day. Nice 1.
