Interchangeability of parts between 800ss and other SS models

Can bits like wheels, forls, discs etc be interchanged?

Cheers!

Nige.

Most of the injection ss bits are interchangeable, and quite a few of the carb ss bits as well. Stuff like discs, calipers and master cylinders, with a few exceptions (40mm v 65mm caliper mounts, R disc offsets etc), are interchangeable across SSs, monsters, STs and 748/916s.

Having seen this post earlier today I decided to have a closer look at a S2R that had turned up at Fox's bike night this evening.

Front and Rear Wheels look the same as those on 748/996/998 etc, with the front using the same 25mm diameter spindle, the forks have the standard 65mm spacing from what I could tell but bolted to these are 2-pot sliding callipers that in turn bite on 300mm discs. To me it looked as if the 320mm 748/916/996 discs will bolt straight on to the wheel and would allow you to use the 4-pot callipers including the P34 4 pad type.

Hope that helps

Kev
