Wanted - 996SPS or 998S - Must be with a dealer

Guys and Girls,

Rick (DSC member and Surrey rideout attendee) is looking at upgrading his 748 to one of the above.

He is ideally looking for a clean unmolested bike from a dealer so that he can trade in the 748.

He is more interested in the "cost of change" than the price, so a higher priced bike somewhere the trade ins are more generous isn't an issue.

Ideally he doesn't want to break 8k.

He has ridden the 2 bike at Ducati Aylesbury but isn't convinced by those bikes, the 998S is in Infostrada paint and the SPS has had some mods including a polished swingarm (and wears a DSC screen sticker).

Rick is based in London so if anyone knows of a good bike out there he is looking for sensible mileage and clean, preferably red.

Please post here as he does occasionally pop in plus I can track response and call him.

Cheers.

The 998 is the one to go for...would he be interested in a 2002 998R with 800 miles? in perfect condition? only made for one year....will not be cheap though?

BDG, cheers, I'll get him to give them a call ...

Bibjo, if he were getting an R it would be a 996, the proper one. And if he had the dough for a 998R the most mint one in the UK is sitting in ProV with just 197 miles on it at a stunning £15k.

Or he could buy this one ...... http://www.ducatisportingclub.com/xm...3141#pid220596

Not exactly rare ......

Dibs,

The 996SPS at Ducati Aylesbury was mine - see avatar left <---

It goes like the proverbial brown stuff off a very shiney shovel!

If your mate wants some more information and history I'm more than happy to answer any questions he might have.

U2U me if he wants a chat, or my number and e-mail are in Pronto each month under North Bucks RO details.

Giles

Why not try the Bike Locator facility on the DUK website? It would save a lot of ringing/surfing around.

if he ever thinks about a private purchase I know somebody who might be talked into selling his 996SPS.
