Hello

Glyn I just bought a 256Mb GForce 6800GS and am very impressed so far
But have not had a chance to set it up to run at its best proformance.

This is a PCI express card so check if as they also do an APG version which I understand are slightly cheaper.

Bought for 3D graphics/Photoshop but games run a treat.

hope this is of some help.

regards

Hello

Glyn just to add if you go this route check the monitor can handle the card.
As it could turn out to be money down the drain. As you will not get the full range it has to offer. On another note I bought the graphics card first then built the computer around it, so still testing.

cheers if i go for the 6800 it would have to be the bottom end jobie
due to economic situation
after a bit of research it seems that the top of the range 6600 (the gt model) is a quicker card than the low end 6800
just to confuse me further it turns out that a lot of the cards that they sell as low end 6800 are infact full spec fast as you like 6800's with 4 of the pipe lines disabled. and for the sake of 20 mins of messing about with um these extra pipe lines can be unlocked
