916cc or 996cc??

Have just bought my first Ducati, a 1998 916 Biposto, have just read an article which states that the 916 Biposto became 996cc in 1998?
How would I be able to tell if mine is 916cc or 996cc??? The log book says 916cc??

Any advise gladly received

It'll probably be a 916 if it's on the log book. You can check the engine number. "916" or "996" will appear near the beginning of the stamping.
It's on the LHS engine casing below the alternator cover
