My 800ss was running like a dog yesterday

Wouldn't start without choke even when warm, wouldn't idle properly....

So this evening it was out with the laptop, hook it up to the power commander, check the throttle position sensor calibration (was 5% out), re-zero it, richen the mixture in the 1000, 1250 and 1750 rpm steps to smooth out the idle......bish-bosh...sorted

Idles nicely. Starts without trouble.

I love this sort of stuff.

This is not the first time my TPS has gone out of cal - this time it was after I washed the bike. last time it just seemed to wander. Has anyone had experience of this before? I'm thinking it would probably be a good idea to replace it although I dread to think what it would cost.

150 quid +VAT if it's the same as the 748!

All that for a volume knob, as they say...

OUCH! For a pot'? Looks like I'll have a cruise through the RS and Farnell catalogues then. That is stupid money.
