Question Theft from circuits

During the usual speil from a track day briefing, the organiser said about locking things away, due to light-fingered people in the pit-lane.
I was wondering if anybody has had any thefts from circuits, either during a TD or whilst racing.

I mean any DSC members had the misfortune.
Of course the fee some TDO's charge for a trackday doesn't count.

Not really related to this but last Monday a friend of mine had her garage broken into. Her step son competes in Moto cross. The garage was stripped clean including two Motocross bikes and every tool. This happened in an integral garage whilst they were asleep. The scum moved her husbands large van seven feet away from the garage door (there was no breakin to the van) and cut through bolts on the garage door. Both bikes were chained to ground anchors with top quality chains.
One of the bikes and was being worked on but they took all the parts and fixings.

Unfortunatly, alarms, chains etc are only deterants, if they realy want it, as in your case it looks like it was stolen to order, not by an oppertunist, there is not a thing you can do, if they want it, they will take it. chop there bloody hands off is the only deterant, but you would get the human rights actavists up in arms, bloody do gooders.

Chris.

Best bet is to add the garage/shed into the house alarm. That way you would at least stand a chance of scaring them off.

I've had a wheel and a set of rearsets stolen. No doubt by a "fellow" racer.
