Motorcycling Proverbs

Recently stolen from duc'.net

I thought I'd pass 'em on.

Rgds,

Rob

1. Motorcycling is not dangerous. Crashing is dangerous.

2. Wise are you who learn from the mistakes of others; you probably won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

3. In the ongoing war between motorcycles traveling at high speeds and the ground traveling at zero, the ground has yet to lose a battle.

4. When wearing an open face helmet, intelligent is the one who avoids crashing face down on the pavement, or face first into another vehicle.

5. Leathers, it is written, will slide on asphalt for 60 yards before wearing through. Denim, it is written, slides 6 yards before wearing through. Sensible is the motorcyclist who only wears denim for short slides on asphalt.

6. Prudent is the motorcyclist who keeps the end with the large light on it pointed forwards.

7. Haste, so say the Elder Motorcyclists, makes road paste.

8. Avoid riding with your head in the clouds. When riding in the clouds (or fog) that silver lining up ahead is probably a Mercedes.
