Recruitment consultant recommendations ?

Well, I'm getting completety pi$$ed off with honeywell who took over the company I work for last year. They a bunch of cheapskate t0ssers.

So, what recruitment consultant would you recommend for a windows desktop and embedded developer, with a particular skill of solving system-level problems, not just product-related.

I work in the Construction Industry as a HeadHunter + I am also Recruitment Manager for a major UK contractor . . .

One of the things that stuns me EVERYSINGLEDAY is the lack of initiative shown by potential candidates (and we are talking senior people) + our industry is dominated by Agencies who hold clients to ransome on fees (ave 20% of basic salary for a **** service and they dont even meet their candidates/clients face to face) - it seems that candidates have forgotten how to apply directly to a company themselves!!!

If my advice is worth anything - it would be - do some research - show some initiative and apply direct - with an innovative approach you will cut out the middle-man and immediately impress a potential employer + you will save them the best part of +/- £12k - which they could add onto your package!

Once you are over a certain age (and if you have been in an industry for a while) you will either know who you want to work for or you will know someone who works for the company you want to work for etc etc - so why use an Agency - its not rocket science (unless of course you are a rocket scientist - in whoch case errrrrrrrr - IT IS!!!!

Good Luck.

Good thoughts khushy, but although I've been working in one industry for almost 25 years, I work for the market leader (by a big margin) who have recently been taken over by one of the yank competition, and we're now part of the same kind of big corporate b0llox that produced the **** that went on before we led the market.
So I probably need to move industries so to speak, as I certainly dont want to work for any of the competition that I am aware of.

working for THE market leader is one thing - but what about working for a company that WANTS to be market leader - now that would be exciting and that company will be VERY interested in what you (with 25 years under your belt) can do for them.

The Recruitment market in the UK is bubbling - FACT!

Finding good people is almost impossible so use your initiative and forget the middleman.

Good Luck!

Khushy
