Just been looking around on t'internet for a set of Dzus bolts so i can change some of the fairing bolts from those god awful well nuts on my SSie, and I keep putting it off so while its off the road I really should get it done!
Does anyone know if a set of 1/4 turn fasteners from the 916 series (sliding clip type) will fit on a 900ssie with/without any modifications?
Thats what I want o change, sick of them getting covered in all sorts of **** and then getting into all sorts of demented positions trying to undo the nuts! from looking at pics, they'll fit without much hassle if I can get the D ring to fit through both parts of the bellypan and the clip, and if they fit other bikes thats a good start...
I now have 4 Dzus fasteners underneath my 900SSie fairing. I can't claim to have done it myself, louigimoto did, as the bike was in dock for other stuff. This should make fairing removal a lot easier, as the side well-nut fasteners don't seem to give too much trouble, it's the ones at the bottom that seize up. If anyone is interested I'll take some pix sometime.
