Nurburgring experience !!!

Ok guys/gals - here it is .....

The no holds barred explanation of the ring!!!

"Q" Is the ring Dangerous ?
"A" Well, no more than the road/track !

"Q" How come there are so many myths about the ring?
"A" Well I personaly think it's a man thing ! The ring is a
very demanding Toll road, and a lot of people go there
and think they are going to ride it like a local road or
even a track day !!!!!!!!

NOT a Chance. The guy who was in the interview with Clarkson, who said he had done over a thousand laps, is my mate Brendan. He lives out there with his wife Suzy and believe me he is quick round there - but he is up there everyday !!

The ring does not forgive as there is ARMCO all the way around it and if you get it wrong it hurts!

Most drivers on there are well aware of the bikes and do make allowances.

Most bikers are only hurt when thay don't listen to advice from those who know!!

Safety is paramount on my trips.

Debriefing is where you can adjust your mind to cope with the job in hand.

The best time I have ever done is 9.08 and believe me it feels like your arse is on fire! Scary!

But the ring is all about the experience of getting together with like minded mates. Meeting up and setting off for a biking holiday where you will experience some of the best scenery and twistiest roads you will ever imagine, and some beer and laughs in the Hotel at night to talk about all the stories in the world

The ring Breeds HERO TO ZERO !!!

All of mine have come back to tell the story, some bent and bruised, but they've all come back

and thats what its all about

Truth !!!!!!!
iv'e done over 200 laps in 6 years and i cant remember it!

may be it's the time between those holidays!

when you get out there bits of it come back to you!

but i think the best way to learn it is like learning the IOM !

A section at a time !! or go on it every day for a week long morning till night expensive that way!!! or do what this guy a good friend of my mate brendan's

i rode with him on a few occasions but unfortunately !!!!!!

Vman - you can go round fairly sedately which is probably best at forst since you have no odea where you are going!! Key is to try and stay off the racing line when someone is coming up behind. Mirrors are a must becuase people come up on you damm quick sometimes. It is scary and seems to go on forever, but once you've done it - wow!!! I've been out there twice now and will probably go again next year. However I wouldn't want to spend days at the Ring itself as I'd bore myself, and especially as the roads around are excellent.

Mav - what's the itinery on your trip and likely cost?

Check out Ben Lovejoy's website at www.nurburgring.org.uk for a detailed explanation of the Ring. Good overall view of the track, facilities, rules etc.

Having sampled the Nurburg ring once with a rather nervous group of "Jap owners".
It would be great to return with like minded bods with track experience.
Give me date.......?
