...and then there is us[some of] the parents.... with our very expensive motorcycles (taking lots of care to make sure they don't get wet), which are tickled and pampered to their every whim, while we just ride them for fun at weekends. Some people of a cynical disposition may say that these Red / Yellow / Black / Bloo beasts are just a tad materialistic - n'est pas?

I think it is one of the modern societies ills the 'Wan't-now, have-to-have-it-now, "....by the way Xmas is to do with WHAT Mummy...[tearing off of wrapping paper]"?

There has always been have's and have-not's but in UK society today it seems that there are more 'have's' than ever before (check out current credit borrowing levels) - the original message.... I guess to most, it's just not important anymore.

P.S. - Also, I hate to p*ss on the parade - but it has definately been proven that the winters were colder, drier and snowier when we were younger...I saw the documentary about the Jetstream as well. That always put a particular sparkle on it at this time of the year.... (Dunno why I put that as I bloody hate snow and Ice)
