well ill stick my neck on the old block, im not a NH fan, personality is a big no no. i said this before on another topic regarding Hodgson, Just because he is british means nothing. i will always spur on a carasmatic (sp) risk taker, all or nothing rider above all. thats the racing i like to see. Haga, Xaus, baylis v Edwards WSB, and of course Rossi. Hodgson just doesnt have that. He may put in better qualifying times but when it comes to side by side racing he seems to lose it. Really dont think he will cut it in AMA.

WSB - Way open, could be Corser, Vermuelen, Toseland, Laconi ... I'm going to go with Corser.

BSB - I don't really know enough about it, haven't followed it closely enough. Reynolds or Smart though, I'll go for Reynolds.

MotoGP - Rossi. Biaggi will be more of a threat this year as a factory rider, and I think Bayliss will be up there as well, more podiums than the one last year and maybe even a win but I think Rossi is the man.

AMA - Mladin. Yates will be closer this year and depending on Honda support DuHamel will be up there as well. So will Hodgy but I don't think he's going to win it on the 999 learning new tracks everywhere he goes etc.

sorry if this is late in the thread but, surely that comment is total tosh. It's like saying if he had a 999 twenty years ago he'd have shown 'em a thing or two

Alan - what is it you don't understand He raced the same bike in 2004 as Capirosssi did in 2003 and did better on in it an underfunded ar$ehole of a team - what does that say about the man?

Really there's only three things to know:
1 He's British
2 He's on a Ducati
3 He's a World Champion
... or isn't this the right place to be proud of that ?

stick my neck into the fray...not a big NH fan either, but i really hope he does it - he may not be the MOST charismatic - IMO only bayliss, edwards and rossi have characters that come across - sure xaus,haga, chili too but not always evident - what about a hodgson/toseland comparison??
Hodgson has had a pretty rough ride - that early works ride with ducati probably did more damage than good / rebuilt his career and reputation - and the guy has stuck to it and worked, really worked hard to get where he is - i admire that. So would love it if he won AMA, but i think he has a huge challenge and a bit of a gamble if it all goes wrong - he threw the dice so lets see how he does.

Henners, Foggy, he's British, rode a Ducati, World champ, more than once, how many on this site run him down?
Im just looking at him only as a rider, forget the "british" forget the Ducati, just the man, he aint got it, WSB title, having only one competitor when winning the title doesnt make him special, four times oh yes. putting three/four title chasing riders with him, different story. wonder how long it takes for him to mention bad tyres?

Henners, its not a case of agreeing or disagreeing, we both just have different views which we wanted to put across.Though we will both agree that we always want to see a Ducati come across the line first.
