Nitron Race Shocks

Right then people, we've fitted our stunningly b-e-a-utiful Nitron race shock, and what a sexy bit of kit

It has a remote reservoir and ride height adjuster, and can be 'sprung' to your weight etc.

They are also mega light compared to 'other' race shocks

Delivered to your door for £460!! Bargain.

That price includes VAT and postage.

thats a 1/3 of what my total spend is so far, and about a 1/4 of my budget for getting the bike on the grid.

I'm still looking into shock options, these include extending a Penske I have that owes me £200, modifying a Paioli shock that owes me £50 and I'm waiting for a 900SSie shock to turn up that cost me £41 (thats what the Dollars worked out at shipped to me) and a single rate spring will cost me around £20.

Looks fuggin gorgeous Dom! Unfortunately my shock budget topped out at £90, but Frank seems to have come up trumps.

Can't wait to see your bike...

Dom If I sold all my other toys/parts and got a 999 WSB spec race bike I suppose I could do the following

Not ride to the monthly meets at the Old Devil and Popham etc
Not go to Boxhill this Sunday
Not ride with the fellow DSC members to the club stand at the BMF
Not ride up to the AGM with fellow DSC members
Not ride with fellow DSC members to the MegaMeet at Popham.

All things that I have done and will continue to do.
I have also supplied bikes for someone at the TT to ride for the last couple of years.

Desmo Due is going to be a bit of fun and I may well race in other classes like 600 supersport or SoT and Streetstocks. But main priorities this year will be to have the 998 Hybrid finished and ready for popham and also to finish my 996, I have no intention of ploughing all my money into Desmo Due.
At the end of the year and a £2k bike has proven to be a waste of time and the bikes to have are worth over £5k it will make far more sense for me to go back to doing SoT.

Each to their own as they say

Domski, it looks great we'd love to have one too BUT, like Kev, its way way outside our budget for the 'trotter mobile'.
Does matey do 'swapsies'??? - have got some spare Kwack bits that could add up to about 50% - and could chuck in hubbie to make up the difference

C

ps: Kev - are we having a comp for keeping to budget m8, as I think its the only thing bike 36 could do well in at the moment

pps: Al says it looks like it wouldnt fit a loop arm bike, unless you have a remote reservior (the shock in the pic wouldnt fit a monster, as it should have a bushed eye top & bottom?)

After my "test" at Cadwell yesterday, I'm sticking (for the moment) with the standard shock and forks on my Monnie, it may be that the later suspension is a lot better than the previous items fitted to the earlier SS's or Monsters - I'm not sure.

This still meets with my original intention of keeping the Monster as close to original as possible and making minimal changes.

That said, I am spending more than I intended just to get a bike up to minimal spec, rearsets, exhausts etc, etc.....

This is still a "toe in the water" for me in racing terms and I'm not gonna be throwing tons of cash at it. (I've got kids and another 'arf who can make better use of the money - apparently!!!!)

Who knows, it might be a great laugh to beat riders who have invested half of a house into their bikes!!!

I can get a Ohlins cheaper than that which if I was spending out it would be my prefered option. The Ohlins would be at least £30 cheaper and I know if I went to the right source I'm sure I would get it for less tha £400.
CK glad to hear your still on budget I llok forward to seeing the result of Alan's Labours, maybe when I eventually get around to picking them panels up.

My actual shock does have a remote reservoir, but that was the only photo I could find to show how they look
