Fallen Mille Rider

Discovered last week that Paul Valpy a former colleague who was made redundant about 8 weeks ago, and a fellow Mille owner has had a bad accident on his bike 4 weeks ago. He bought the Mille after listening to me enthuse.

He broke several ribs, punctured a lung and severed the main artery in his arm. They were going to amputate the arm but managed to save it. They were in the middle of skin grafts when the poor sod has contracted MRSA. Therefore they cannot continue with the skin grafts.

He is still in Intensive Care in Derryford Hospital, Plymouth.

Although Paul lurked on here occaisionally I don't think he posted anything.

I am unable to contact him but may pop in if I can get down to Plymouth.

Hope he recovers soon. Think it will be a long rehabilitation.

We had a spate of deaths a while back on the RSVR forum so take it easy everyone!

The reference to "here" was because I pasted it from the RSVR forum.

To be honest I don't know. He departed our company at short notice and I had no means of contacting him as he handed back his company mobile. I don't think anyone else was involved but will try to find out next week. I get the impression that he made an error.

What a terrible sad story of modern times.

Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery - best regards to your friend and his family.
